Physics and astronomy projects increasingly release their data. The CERN Open Data Portal publishes collision data and simulations from the LHC experiments, the LIGO open science center provides gravitational-wave strain data from the Hanford and Livingston detectors, and IceCube shares neutrino data from the South Pole. For astronomy there are the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the NASA Exoplanet Archive and NASA's NSSDC records of spacecraft.
The Crystallography Open Database collects crystal structures, and a CC BY table lists every orbital and suborbital launch since Sputnik with its payloads. Large experiment data often needs the collaboration's own software or a provided virtual machine to analyse, so start with the documentation and any educational subsets. Astronomical catalogues are usually queried through SQL interfaces or FITS files rather than downloaded whole.
