Public Domain Collections

This category gathers broad collections rather than single-topic datasets. It includes Archive.org datasets and Archive-It, Open Library data dumps, the Stack Overflow Annual Developer Survey since 2011, the Grand Comics Database, Reddit datasets, Microsoft Research Open Data and hosted catalogues from Amazon, Google and Data.World. Statistics teaching collections include the CMU StatLib archives, sample R datasets and archived Stats4Stem sets.

Despite the category name, not everything here is in the public domain. The Grand Comics Database is CC BY-SA, and each hosted catalogue carries the licence its uploader chose, so check every dataset individually. Some entries, such as Infochimps and the Microsoft Azure Data Market, point to services that have closed, and others link to Wayback captures. Treat these as historical pointers and look for a current mirror.
